PrimeSense, discovered a way of taking control of the television with motion control gestural interface. Displayed in CES 2012 expo, primesense is ready to take motion control kinect to the next step with their 3D sensors enabled to take control of video content from the motion controlled menu for televisions.
One can select videos and drag them by moving their hands in the air and make them play. It even sports channel surfing menu allowing its users to watch their favorite channels simultaneously by just grabbing and dropping them. In addition to these cool features, PrimeSense is trying to
get developers on board with their Natural Interaction (NI) software making it robust and user friendly experience..
Since its open source, this will surely lead to lot of users
creating all kinds of apps for PrimeSense software through which we may observe development of voice controlled menu as well in near future. These sensors would eventually replace our remote controls and take TV watching experience to a whole new level, converting our basic TV to a smart TV with Internet access and surfing, stream music and videos and playing games along with the advantage of staying fit and slim.
